Straight from Savage Garden... |
"It's pretty much my take on Carla, a character from [The Other Sister], and I guess it's the person I want to be sometimes when my day sucks, basically. It's a piece of pop and I don't know where the hell it came from, but I really enjoy listening to it." -Darren Hayes "I love the production of this song. That big drum pop feel with the percussion is just amazing and huge. I sat down and created this drum loop, which was really jungley, then we added the bass line and Darren started singing over it. I'd have liked if we could have made the drums even bigger!" -Daniel Jones |

Say WHAT? |
When Darren and Daniel were asked to write a song for the The Other Sister's soundtrack, Daz was in New York City and Dan was back home in Brisbane. Daniel wrote and recorded the music in his home studio, then mailed music disks to Darren to write his lyrics and melody. They demoed the song in this transglobal high-tech manner before going to San Francisco to record the final version at Wallyworld and Andora Studios with producer, Walter Afanasieff. The song was recorded in 2 days. And something else quite funny...the drums at the beginning of the album version are fake! It's a computer playing them! |

Video Eye Candy |
International version![]() The video clip is set in a parade in the small town of Piru, a few hours away from Los Angeles. Piru happens to be directly on the earthquake belt, and it is illegal to run a business there... which makes the real joke: how on earth did they get in for a two day video shoot? It used about 500 extras-- jugglers, marching bands, and locals of the town (lucky people). Darren and Daniel have both said that this is the only video shoot that they have actually had fun doing. No wonder... who wouldn't love to have their own personal parade? Did you notice... |
